The ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification is nationally recognized and accredited. To date, more than 3 million ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certifications have been awarded. This course is conducted in one single 8-hour session with the last 2 hours dedicated for the exam. The majority of the class is an interactive lecture with demonstrations and participatory activities. In addition to the lecture, there may be a short video or two to highlight important concepts. The cost of registration includes 8 hrs of class, testing, ServSafe® 6th Edition Coursebook, and certificates.

Georgia requires at least one food service manager on staff who has successfully completed a food safety-training program and passed an ANSI-CFP exam. For all new establishments, there is a 90-day grace period to comply with the mandatory manager certification. During this 90-day period, the manager or person in charge must demonstrate food safety knowledge. ServSafe Certification is effective for 5 years.
