Counselor, Choreographer, and Champion Barbara Landrum Honaker wears many hats. In her presentation at Tri-County Women?s Connection, on Wednesday, February 4th, at 12:00 noon, at Monet?s Café, she will share her expertise in several areas with us. Mrs. Honaker is Accountability Case Manager for the North Enotah Circuit Drug Treatment Court. She is well qualified in this area with a Masters of Arts degree in Human Services in Counseling, a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with honors, and an Associate Degree in Human Services and Mental Health with honors, along with several other degrees and professional memberships. She has held previous positions as a Victims Advocate; an Investigator/Case Manager for the Department of Family and Children?s Services; a Case Worker for a Women and Children Shelter, and a Community Counselor as a Teacher of Parenting Classes. As an instructor and choreographer for Young Harris College, she draws on her 35 years? experience as a Choreographer, Director, and Teacher. She is the recipient of over 2500 awards, including, ?Majorette Queen of America,? and, ?Southern States Talent Champion?. She has choreographed Billy Graham Crusades, Southern Centre, and many other events. Her discussion at the TCWC luncheon will center around her work with the North Enotah Circuit Drug Treatment Court, coupled with an overview of the Theatre/Musical Theatre Department at Young Harris College. If you are a regular at our luncheons, you?ll recognize our Music guest, Marvel Metzger. Marvel was born in New Orleans, LA. She has been widowed twice, and has been married to her husband, Francis for 18 years. She has three children, two step children, and ten grandchildren. Marvel retired from a career in Cosmetology and moved to Young Harris eight years ago, and loves the mountains. She has sung for many different organizations and choirs. Have you ever felt like you were going crazy? Our guest speaker, Rebecca Davis, of Wartburg, TN, will share her personal struggle with an often invisible illness as she tells us about her experiences, ?Have I Gone Crazy?? She has an educational and helping organization, tutors children, writes, and facilitates workshops. She also loves attending her granddaughters? sports events! Please make your reservations by Monday, February 2nd, and invite a friend or two. The cost of $11.00 includes lunch with coffee or tea, dessert, tax, and tip. Please pay by cash or check.
