DESCRIPTION:An Evening with the STARs - STAR Students Banquet\n\n\n\nThe STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) banquet recognizes Union County High School's outstanding seniors and the teachers who have been instrumental in their academic development. The STAR Student will be recognized and awarded scholarships from money raised by the Chamber Shoot for the Stars Golf Tournament and also from other local businesses.\n\n\n\nThe banquet is open to all educators\, family members of the students and teachers being honored\, business leaders\, community members\, and anyone else who wishes to celebrate those being awarded and/or receiving scholarships. \n\n\n\nThe purpose of the STAR program is to recognize academic achievement and to motivate students to be good scholars and high achievers. Also to honor excellence in teaching\, to promote teaching as a career and to encourage outstanding teachers to remain in the classroom\, and to demonstrate the business community's commitment to excellence in education and to increase interaction between students and the business community. \n\n\n\nWe would like to thank the Blue Ridge Mountain EMC for being our presenting sponsor of the event.
