DESCRIPTION:An Evening with the STARs - STAR Students Banquet\n\n\n\nThe STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) banquet recognizes Union County High School and  Woody Gap's outstanding seniors and the teachers who have been instrumental in their academic development. The STAR Student will be recognized and awarded scholarships funded by the Chamber's Shoot for the STARs Golf Tournament and generous contributions from local businesses. Other special awards will be presented by the Union County Board of Education. \n\n\n\nThe banquet is open to all educators\, family members of the students and teachers being honored\, business leaders\, community members\, and anyone else who wishes to celebrate those being awarded and/or receiving scholarships. \n\n\n\nThe STAR program aims to recognize academic achievement\, inspire students to strive for excellence\, and recognize outstanding educators. It also seeks to promote teaching as a profession\, encourage outstanding teachers to remain in the classroom\, and demonstrate the business community's commitment to supporting education while fostering greater interaction between students and local businesses.\n\n\n\nThank you to Blue Ridge Mountain EMC for acting as the presenting sponsor for the event!
