DESCRIPTION:Our presenter\, Dr. Elizabeth Little\, will help us understand the importance of biodiversity\, both above ground and in the soil\, in helping to interrupt insect and disease life cycles. She will discuss how to use vegetable production practices\, such as composting\, crop rotation and cover crops\, to promote plant health and lessen problems. So if you are considering growing your own vegetables organically\, come to this seminar to learn how to put sustainable practices to work. Dr. Elizabeth Little is a University of Georgia Assistant Professor of Plant Pathology. She participates in the UGA sustainable food systems faculty and the organic certificate program\, where she teaches organic disease management. As an Extension specialist\, she has developed a community outreach program on sustainable and organic integrated pest management approaches for home landscapes\, and for home\, community and small farm production of fruits and vegetables.
