The records in the GRS can be used as a window into the stories of people who contributed to the founding of our country. The information contained in the GRS databases demonstrates the variety of different kinds of actions\, big and small\, performed by a variety of people\, that contributed to establishing our independence. More than just the Founding Fathers and other famous Revolutionary War heroes from this time\, the GRS provides information about the thousands of everyday people who also contributed to shaping our nation.
