SUMMARY:I Hate Shakespeare!
DESCRIPTION:Shakespeare is complex and replete with nuance. The language is flowery and difficult to follow\, especially if you aren't familiar with the material. It's no surprise that the Bard's repertoire is not for everyone. The Peacock takes that antipathy head on with Steph DeFerie's play\, I Hate Shakespeare!\, and runs with it\, developing an entire skit show about people not appreciating the 16th-century playwright. The jokes make fun of material that is by now generations old\, but somehow still eerily relevant today. The skits land dead-center\, poking fun at the language or laughing at the over-wrought drama: how does Hamlet take an entire play to enact his revenge when a simple sword swipe would do it? What if Juliet could resolve her suitor problem by going on The Dating Game? I Hate Shakespeare! isn't highbrow comedy or big drama\, but a down-to-earth comedy show for the everyman - the everyman that enjoys the adventure of life with a few "what thinkest thou?" and a Talking Cow tossed in oh\, and you knew about the zombies\, right?
