DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Thru Hiker Season Kick Off Party! Each year as thru hikers begin to flock out of the forest\, we host a party with live music\, food\, fun for the whole family\, a gear raffle and demonstrations by outdoor product companies. \n\n\n\nThis year's fun includes good ol' bluegrass pickin' from 1pm to 5pm\, a s'mores station and hotdogs on the grill\, and face painting and hair wrapping for the kiddos. \n\n\n\nWe will hold a gear raffle of which all proceeds will be benefiting the A.T. History Project and their efforts to document the building of the Appalachian Trail in connection to the Civilian Conservation Corps in Union County. Gear will include anything from day packs\, hydro packs\, clothing\, water bottles\, cookware and much\, much more. Raffle Tickets are only $10 and can be purchased at Mountain Crossings or on the day of the event. It is not necessary to be present to win\, but you must come to Mountain Crossings to retrieve your winnings. \n\n\n\nCome join Mountain Crossing at the historic Walasi-Yi Center for a day of reveling in the mountains and celebrating the vibrant culture of the Appalachian Trail!
