SUMMARY:Sew a Twirly Dance Skirt w/ Aino Riiho
DESCRIPTION:In this class\, we'll learn to take measurements and go through some basic sewing skills to make a full circle skirt. This is a beginner friendly class\, so don't worry if you haven't touched the sewing machine in a while (or ever). Bring your own sewing machine\, or use the ones we'll have at the class. Expect to finish a skirt that fits you right and get ready to make an impression on the dance floor!\n\nStudent material list:\n\n-2-4 yards (depending on your size) of 60 inch wide light/medium weight fabric.\n\n*Student supplies material. Choose a color and print that you like\, and that is easy to match with the kinds of tops you use while dancing. I recommend choosing a fabric with a texture that has a nice\, soft\, drapey weight. My favorites are light jersey and interlock (both knits\, used often in t-shirts). This is a skirt that is meant to be worn while you move\, so we want it to be comfortable!*\n\n-sewing machine in working order (the teacher will bring hers\, and we can also work with her serger\, so no panic if your sewing machine just stopped working and you still want to come)\n\n-double folded bias tape to finish the edge of the hem (you'll need a lot of it\, especially for a full circle skirt!\n\n-thread that matches your fabric\n\n-good fabric scissors\n\n-pencil and eraser\n\n-a lightweight top/shirt to wear while taking the waist and hip measurements\, and trying on the skirt\n\nMaterials provided by the teacher:\n\n-additional fabrics for the waist band\n\n-elastic band
