DESCRIPTION:How To Be Safe Anywhere We should all become more aware of safety both at home and away. To learn more about keeping yourself safe\, come to the Tri-County Women's Connection luncheon on Wednesday\, August 5th\, at Monet's Restaurant\, where featured guest\, Russell ?Rusty? Walker\, will give us valuable safety tips. Officer Walker is a Lieutenant with the Blairsville Police Dept\, having been in both the military and law enforcement for close to 30 years. He has served Union County with the Union County Sheriffs Office as well as the Blairsville Police Dept. for the past eighteen years. He serves the Blairsville PD as an instructor in firearms training\, defense tactics\, and all other areas related to law enforcement. Officer Walker is currently engaged to his best friend\, Michelle Blivins\, and says his two wonderful daughters have taught him you can never save enough for college! Officer Walker's presentation to TCWC will focus on using common sense when faced with women's safety issues. He will discuss how to approach and recognize different\, and possibly dangerous\, situations we may encounter during daily activities. He will cover safety at home\, in the community\, while shopping\, and away on vacation. Husband and wife duo\, Adam and Julie McPherson\, will provide musical entertainment. Adam moved to Blairsville in 1997\, from Pennsylvania\, where he was in the Coast Guard\; and he currently is a Sales Manager for Panel Built Inc. Julie moved here in 1998 from Texas\, where she worked in the Financial Corporate Headquarters of JC Penney. She is now Office Manager and Agent with Mike Callaway Nationwide Insurance. When not working\, they enjoy spending time with their son and sharing their vocal gifts with others. Susan Smith will share information on stress and tips that have worked for her in dealing with stress in her life. She will also tell how to find real peace in her presentation\, "How do You Spell STRESS?" Please make your reservations by Monday\, August 3rd\, and invite a friend or two!
