Kiwanis Art & Music Showcase 
 
The Kiwanis Club of Blairsville announced its first annual Art & Music Showcase scheduled for March 25^th in the Old Historic Courthouse. The Showcase will include students from Union County in grades 6 - 12 competing for scholarships and cash awards.

Art Showcase:  Eligible media types include painting, drawing, sculpting and mixed media. The creations will be on display for public view at River City Bank until March 24^th. 

Music Showcase:  Acts will be comprised of vocal and/or instrumental pieces from solo artists or student groups of five or less.

“Our club is thrilled to host this opportunity to showcase the talents of Union County students,” said Kiwanis Club President Allyson McGraw. “We have assembled a team of professional musicians and artists to do the judging, and in addition to our two $500 scholarships for High School winners and two $200 awards for Middle School winners, ribbons will be awarded as will school trophy plaques for the 1^st place winners.”

The showcase is free to submitting students. Kiwanis is funding the event by selling advertisements that will appear in the showcase program.  In addition to paying for showcase costs, ad proceeds will go towards other club projects budgeted to support Union County children.. 

“We encourage everyone to come out on March 25^th to hear the amazing music performances and cheer for their hometown students as the winners from both categories are announced,” said Allyson.  “Admission is free and not only will it be a great time, but you’ll be supporting the very talented students of Union County.”
