Saturday, June 19th is your day with your dog at the Bark-e-Q on the square in Hiawassee. The day will be devoted to information and fun for both of you with the program starting at 10 a.m. Bring your chair and hear local vets talking on different pet subjects and answering questions, plus a talk on poisonous plants to keep your pets away from, and an animal communicator will show you how to communicate with your pet. Be sure to check out the Kissing Booth with Foxy, the red Pomeranian and the 50/50 raffle. Many door prizes will be drawn from the 50/50 raffle tickets. Demonstrations will also be held by T.C. Deputy Shattles and his K-9 dog, and Lisa Waggoner from Cold Nose College in North Carolina will show how to Clicker train your dog.
There will be treats for pets, BBQ plates for humans, and face painting for the children.
PUP (Prevent Unwanted Pets) is sponsoring this event and has invited other rescue groups: Castaway Critters, Logan's Run Rescue, Mountain Shelter, North Georgia SPCA, and Whiskers. Some are bringing pets for adoption.
