Join us MONDAY, April 6, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room for a concert with Sequoia Rose. Sequoia is a bluegrass musician whose music bridges the soul of Appalachian tradition with a fresh, heartfelt voice. Raised in the hills of southwestern Pennsylvania, Sequoia grew up immersed in the sounds of bluegrass, folk, and old-time country music that felt as natural and essential as the landscape around them.
From a young age, Sequoia found a deep connection to music through songwriting and guitar, developing a style rooted in emotional honesty and melodic storytelling. Drawing from the rich musical heritage of their upbringing, their sound is both grounded and evolving—respecting the past while carving a unique path forward.
Now living in Nashville, Tennessee, Sequoia is part of a new generation of artists breathing life into bluegrass with authenticity and creativity. Whether on stage or in the studio, their performances are marked by sincerity, soul, and a clear reverence for the genre’s roots. Sequoia Rose’s music speaks to life’s quieter truths—the beauty in everyday moments, the pull of the natural world, and the stories that tie us all together. With every song, they invite listeners into a space where tradition and originality live side by side.
A donation of $5-15 per adult is suggested, but all are welcome regardless of contribution. Any funds raised support traditional arts and help us strive for equitable pay for performers. *Lineup and schedule are subject to change, for the most up-to-date details, check the schedule at folkschool.org/concerts.
