Course Instructor Lauren Albin
In this session we will use our planetarium projectors to the fullest to learn about the constellations that can be found in our night sky. We will swap stories about some of the night sky's most famous pictures. We will begin by investigating the winter sky, but will branch out to cover constellations visible during other parts of the year here in Young Harris, GA. Stories about the stars will come not only from the Greek & Roman, but other cultural wellsprings as well. * This session will be conducted primarily in the dark*
Lauren Albin earned her MS in Space Studies with an emphasis in astronomy from American Public University and her MFA in poetry from Arizona State University. She is director of the O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium and instructor of astronomy at Young Harris College. Before stepping into her role at YHC, she worked as a staff astronomer at Fernbank Science Center in Atlanta and taught English and Creative Writing at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA.
