Basic Computer Skills for Windows Users - Instructor Marty Dellinger

Do you feel like you have fallen behind in your computer skills since retirement?  Or maybe you never felt comfortable with computers but would like to know how to use them safely?  The world of technology can open doors to entertainment, education, organization, and just plain fun!

This course will introduce computer concepts, including basic functions and operations of computers with Microsoft Windows 10 or 11 (Sorry, No Apple Computers).  Topics will include identification of hardware components, basic computer operations, security issues, and an overview of Microsoft software applications such as Word, Excel, and OneNote (if you’re not familiar with OneNote, the class will be well worth learning this program alone).

PLEASE BRING YOUR LAPTOP.  Computers will not be provided.

Marty Dellinger taught Information Technology in the NC Community College System for more than 20 years. After retirement she and her husband, Paul, moved to Blairsville.  Retirement gave Marty the time to begin active research of her family tree. She has taken numerous classes on several topics in genealogy and has found some interesting family surprises.  The main one being that her husband is a 4^th – 5^th generation cousin!
