This fall, the John C. Campbell Folk School will be partnering with South Arts to host five live virtual film screenings that allow our community to connect through thematic workshops, Q&As with filmmakers, and more. If you can’t make it to a live film screening or want to watch at your own pace, don’t worry. Films are available to watch up to four days after their screen date through Eventive, so you won’t miss out on viewing. All screenings and Q&As will be at 7:00 p.m. and free to viewers. For more information on how to register for a screening, visit: https://blog.folkschool.org/2021/08/24/join-us-for-south-arts-southern-circuit-film-screenings-fall-2021/ Join us for our live virtual screening of Duty Free on Tuesday, November 9, followed by a Q&A with filmmakers on Wednesday, November 10. Duty Free Synopsis: After a 75-year-old immigrant mother gets fired without cause from her lifelong job as a hotel housekeeper, her son takes her on a bucket-list adventure to reclaim her life. As she struggles to find work, he documents a journey that uncovers the economic insecurity shaping not only her future, but that of an entire generation.
