Ribbon Cutting - Mountain Meats, aka- Chamber's Slaughterhouse

The Chamber would like to invite you to at Ribbon Cutting on Friday, May 7, 2010 at 9:30am for Mountain Meats, aka Chamber’s Slaugterhouse in Blairsville. They are having their Customer Appreciation on Saturday, May 8th and the Ribbon Cutting will help them to kick-off the festivities the next day. 

 

 

 

The operation is now approved for federally inspected product under the supervision of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  Similar rules and regulations govern both State and Federal plants; however, State facilities are prohibited by from selling retail or wholesale product across state lines. Until now the North Carolina and Tennessee producers could not transport their beef and pork back across the state line because of this regulatory barrier.

 

Chambers’ federal designation provides local cattle producers a business opportunity.  Several cattlemen in the area are currently marketing their own locally raised beef. Now that Chambers is under federal inspection, these animals can be processed closer to home.

Mountain Meats will Cut the Ribbon at their facility at 6310 Murphy Hwy, Blairsville.

 

DIRECTIONS:  We are located on US 129 (Murphy Highway) across the road from Rountree’s Furniture (6.2 miles north of the intersection of US 76/GA 515 and US 129 in the City of Blairsville).

*If you are using mapping software or a GPS, more than likely you will need to use the old street address of 4002 Murphy Highway, because Union County is in the process of converting all its street numbers to a new system, but some mapping software has not yet made the switch.
