Good soil preparation, composting and proper planting dates are key elements to sustainable gardening practices. Healthy, naturally enriched soils, receiving seeds and plants at the proper time, will produce garden crops that successfully resist disease and insect attacks. This three-hour workshop will provide a close up look at composting, soil preparation and planting by the signs of the moon. Our Speakers: Truman Barrett & Jo Anne Allen Mr. Truman Barrett is the owner of Better Earth compost and Rock Hill Farms in Towns County, Georgia. Jo Anne Allen is the owner of Bunker Hill Farm & Garden in Blairsville, Georgia. In addition to being the President of the North Georgia Master Gardeners and the President of the Blairsville Garden Club, she is a member of the Community Council.
