The Sweet Science of Chocolate
There are few foods people feel as passionate about as chocolate. But do you know what this global sweet has to do with history and chemistry? Or how the fat content affects flavor? There is more than just taste in every delicious morsel. Come to this seminar to better appreciate the science and culture behind these delicious treats. Our speaker, Dr. Robert Shewfelt is an outstanding teacher and mentor, receiving the DW Brooks Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2002. He is known for an unconventional approach to classroom instruction that incorporates a “customer orientation” which evolved from his fruit and vegetable quality research. His students describe him as innovative, enthusiastic, passionate and caring.
