Tri-County Women's Connection Presents: "Bloom Where you are planted" Know the saying, "Bloom Where You Are Planted" The Fucci Family, owners of Buds & Butterflies in Blairsville, followed that saying and planted themselves here in 1994. They are our Feature Guest at the Tri-County Women's Connection Luncheon at Monet's Café, 130 Blue Ridge Street, Blairsville on Wednesday, April 2. See reservation and luncheon details below. Donald & Linda Fucci have been in the garden business for 42 years. They owned and operated a wholesale/retail garden center in Central Florida. Along with daughter, Christina, they vacationed in North Georgia beginning in 1985 and became full-time residents 10 years ago. Donald worked at a local retail nursery for nine years. In March 2013, they decided to "bloom where planted" and opened Buds & Butterflies Garden Center. Buds & Butterflies is unique because they grow their own seasonal flowers and vegetables from seeds in their greenhouse and the whole family shares in growing the seedlings. This is a plus because it gives plants time to acclimate to the local climate before being planted in your yard or garden. Most of their shrubs and trees come from nurseries within a 100 mile radius and are covered by a one-year warranty. Free delivery is another plus. While Linda manages the office, Donald and Christina help customers with plant selections, information and advice. Donald also offers free consultations for your garden projects.
Other services include building retaining walls, steps and mulching. Located at 5483 Murphy Highway, just 5 miles from town, hours are 9am-5pm, Mon-Sat; 12:30pm-6pm Sunday. Be sure and look for the Buds & Butterflies booth at the Union County Farmers Market beginning in June. Growing up in Alabama, our Music Guest Patti Martin, has been singing all her life. She sang in choirs and became a soloist while attending college. Patti started a teaching career at a Florida school in 1975 until May 2009. Patti lives in Blue Ridge with her husband, Tom. Our speaker, Frieda Dixon's message is "Three Amazing Gifts and a Second Chance at Life". In spite of overwhelming odds, her life was renewed after a 20 year period of trials. Raised in Western New York, she and husband, Charles, call Acworth, GA home. She began her writing career three years ago and is a published author and blogger. Check-in at 11:30, program starts promptly at noon and includes door prizes, buffet, coffee or tea, dessert, tax & tip for only $11, cash or check. Make your reservation by calling Jocelyn Bowers, 706.781.1537 or email: jowabow@aol.com or Betty Taylor, 706.745.2248 or email: bgtaylor@windstream.net by Monday, March 31.
