“PICTURE THIS!” LADIES LUNCHEON Tri-County Women’s Connection invites you and your friends to a fun afternoon with a delicious lunch, door prizes and two very interesting program guests. Our event is Wednesday, April 17, 11:00am to 1:00 pm at the Civic Center in Blairsville. Most of us grab our Smartphone to take photos. But when we need to capture those memorable moments, we want the experience and skill of a professional. We are excited that Professional Photographer Alysia Hargus is our program’s Feature Guest. Alysia specializes in action, event and portrait photography. Alysia will share “how to tips” for taking better photos. A resident of Union County since 2012, Alysia and her husband Jim have two grown children – Casey is newly married and a recent graduate of University of North Georgia; and Evan who is attends North Georgia Technical College in Clarksville, GA. Jim works as an EMS helicopter pilot for Erlanger Lifeforce operating from the Andrews Airport in Andrews, NC. Photography is not Alysia’s first career. Alysia has an 18+ year background in information technology in the oil & gas industry, with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and 4+ years in the life insurance industry. Always interested in photography, she started professionally in 2017 when her daughter, Casey, began barrel racing and was a team member of the Union County Saddle Club’s Sass ‘n Saddles Precision Mounted Drill Team. A member of the International Professional Rodeo Association (IPRA), Alysia was selected as the Official Photographer for national and regional rodeo finals events in 2021, 2022 and 2023. Alysia also enjoys concert photography and has photographed country music artists from acoustic performances on the small stage to full band performances at stadiums, such as Nissan Stadium in Nashville. An active member in the Union County community, she is a member of the Blairsville-Union County Chamber of Commerce, the Mountain Networking Referral Group and serves as the Publicity Officer for the Union County Saddle Club. Our Guest Speaker Michelle Harrell from Acworth will share how she dealt with life’s trials. As a teenager, someone close to Michelle experienced a life-changing accident and she learned that “It’s Not About Me”. Born in Alabama, Michelle moved to Georgia when she was 7. Making her singing debut at age 2, she performed a Kris Kristofferson song! Married for 33 years to Brian, they have two adult sons. Michelle loves to read and is an American Sign Language interpreter. The event will be held Wednesday, April 17 from 11:00am to 1:00pm (doors open at 10:30) at the Union County Civic Center, 165 Wellborn Street in Blairsville. Cost is $17 and includes the program and lunch. Delish LLC is catering with choice of Traditional or Vegetarian Lasagna, Caesar Salad, Breadsticks, Chocolate Mousse, coffee, tea and water.
