In addition to a great lunch, our program will lift you up and get you on track for a New Year! Check in begins at 11:30, program starts promptly at noon and includes door prizes, buffet, coffee or tea, dessert, tax & tip for only $11, cash or check. The Society is a non-profit organization established in 1976 for those interested in the history and heritage of Union County. Located in the Union County Courthouse which was built in 1899, current hours of operation are Monday through Friday 10am to 4pm. Membership in the Society is available beginning at $20 and up. There are many wonderful opportunities to participate in throughout the year, music concerts, festivals, exhibits and the Mountain Life Museum. If there is a wedding in your future, reserve your date for a very nominal fee and tie the knot in the old courthouse room upstairs. If you want to honor someone special, purchase a personalized brick for placement on the Brick Walk on the Courthouse grounds. Making us smile with her beautiful voice is Ruth Gerard from Lincolnton, GA. Ruth retired from the school system but continues to teach piano and has always loved to sing. Although Ruth and her husband planned to enjoy retirement at their lake-side home, they frequently travel to Augusta to help with their seven grandchildren, two of whom were recently adopted from Africa. Our speaker, Carole Camak from Grovetown, GA tells us to Smile, you are a designer original! Carole will share how to achieve freedom from fear, worry and inferiority.Carole also relates to others who fill a support role having dealt with her husband?s bout with cancer. She enjoys traveling, is a writer and has a published book entitled, There Came A Lion and copies will be available for purchase.
