How the VA is Addressing Women Veterans Health Did you know that women Veterans are the fastest growing group in the Veteran population? For these ladies in the north Georgia area having Sally Dagerhardt, Primary Care Social Worker at the VA's Blairsville Community-Based Outpatient Clinic, is a huge plus. Sally focuses on services and programs that includes primary and mental health care while specialty care is referred to the Decatur VA hospital. A large part of Sally's job is to help and support Veterans and their caregivers, applying for benefits, navigating through the VA system and local resources. Born and raised in Carrollton, Georgia, Sally attended Smith College earning a Masters in Social Work and holds a Clinical Social Work license. Sally has been with the VA almost seven years and at the Blairsville office since 2010. She was previously at the Salisbury, NC facility and also worked in community mental health. The Tri-County Women's Connection is excited to welcome Sally as our Feature Guest to our 2nd Wednesday luncheon on July 9 (rescheduled from our normal 1st Wednesday July 2). Join us at Monet's Café, 130 Blue Ridge Street, Blairsville and enjoy our program guests, fun, food and door prizes!! Entertaining us with her beautiful voice will be Marianne Engelmann. Marianne holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the Chicago Conservatory College and a Master of Arts in Theology/Liturgical Studies from Notre Dame. John and Marianne have three adult children; one granddaughter and five grandsons. The Englemann family lived in the Midwest before making their last move to beautiful Blairsville in 2010.
Presently, Marianne is a volunteer choir director at St. Francis of Assisi Church. For our Guest Speaker, we are delighted to welcome Susan DeVos from McCormick, SC.
