Do you know about the Civilian Conservation Corps? Are you interested in Pivotal Events in US History? Do you know about the CCC Boys and what they accomplished? No? Then join us on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the John B Derden CCC Museum at Vogel State Park. Come celebrate our 250th Year Birthday locally by catching a glimpse of a formidable chapter of these 250 Years, Vogel State Park’s Annual Civilian Conservation Corps History Day. Our Program will give you an amazing insight to the ‘Phoenix Rise’ out of the Great Depression to the beginnings of the Greatest Generation. Several members in our surrounding communities had members in the CCC and we want to extend an invitation to join in this event. Our program agenda will include the formation of the CCC, the story of individual CCC Enrollees, the impact of these young men’s efforts locally and nationwide, and much more. There will be hands-on demonstrations of various tools used by the CCC, museum tour during lunchtime where we will offer refreshments. The event is open to the public at the John B. Derden CCC Museum, across from the Lake Pavilion.
