Lake Chatuge is facing a dire threat from an invasive aquatic weed known as “Parrot Feather.” This insidious plant has rapidly spread across an estimated 275 square acres of the lake, posing a significant risk to its delicate ecosystem and recreational activities. Without immediate intervention, the situation will only worsen leading to potentially devastating consequences for our community and its natural resources.

A Fundraiser to Eradicate Parrot Feather

Pirates and Parrots is a public event, but tickets must be purchased ahead of time by contacting Ella Bury at ella@partnerwithtrueblue.com or 706-896-2262 ext. 707.
Donations for this cause will be tax deductible as Mountain True is a 501c3 non-profit organization.
The funds raised during this event will go directly to Save Lake Chatuge, in partnership with MountainTrue, who is leading the charge to combat this invasive species through a targeted and environmentally responsible plan to manage and treat the Parrot Feather infestation.
Our goal for the evening is $10,000, but with your generosity, we hope to exceed this target and make a significant impact in protecting Lake Chatuge for future generations.
